Poplin
Poplin is a tightly woven plain weave with many more warp threads than weft, which produces its smooth face and fine crosswise rib. It is crisp, durable and takes print and dye well, and it covers shirting, school and corporate uniforms, dresses, linings and pocketing. Supplied in cotton, polyester-cotton and polyester, in the count, construction and weight you specify.

About Poplin
What does 40x40 132x72 mean on a poplin?
40x40 is the warp and weft yarn count, where a higher number means finer yarn. 132x72 is the reed and pick, the warp and weft threads per inch. Together they describe the cloth far more precisely than weight alone.
Cotton or PC poplin for uniforms?
PC poplin is the usual uniform choice because it is stable, easy care and holds its shade through repeated washing. Cotton is more comfortable in heat but creases and shrinks more.
