Where from
Four origins, and what each is good for
China
By far the largest source, with the deepest range and the most competitive pricing. Quality control varies by mill, so sample approval and inspection are essential.
Vietnam
Growing quickly as garment manufacturing expands there. Often more consistent than the equivalent Chinese mill, usually a little dearer.
South Korea
The quality end for synthetic leather and engineered fabrics. The India-Korea CEPA gives preferential duty on some textile lines, which is worth checking line by line.
Taiwan
Specialist functional and technical constructions in smaller volumes, strong on documentation and repeatability.

Imports, frequently asked
Why import at all, when India makes so much fabric?
For range, not for price. For most fabrics a domestic mill is the right answer, and we will say so. We import where a construction, finish or weight is not made here at commercial scale, so you get the right fabric instead of the nearest domestic substitute.
What does imported fabric cost to land?
On top of the CIF price come basic customs duty, the social welfare surcharge, IGST, clearing charges and inland freight. Duty rates vary by tariff line and change, so we confirm them per consignment and quote you a landed rupee figure, never an FOB price that looks cheaper than it is.
How do you handle quality on an imported lot?
Sample approval before order, and inspection before the container is sealed. We keep a counter-sample to check the delivered lot against.
Can I import through you rather than directly?
Yes, and for most buyers it is the sensible route: one domestic invoice in rupees, with no letter of credit, customs exposure or currency risk on your side. Direct import makes sense once you consume full containers of one construction regularly, and we will tell you when you reach that point.
